ITEX fabrics don't depend upon T-shirts for protection against flames
Performance of ITEX fabrics is high even in hot weather conditions where Nomex/nylon fabrics depend upon flammable cotton T-shirts for their advertised fire protection.
Sometimes it's too hot for a T-shirt
Nomex IIIA (Nomex/nylon) blend garments washed one time were tested with new T-shirt/briefs, T-shirt/briefs washed 20 times, and no underwear. Mannequin tests demonstrated that even with the recommended tow layers of fabric, body burn approached that of untreated cotton fabrics. Body burn represents the burn under the coverall, not including the exposed head.
